Mr. Froggie's question, I'd say that if by "poking" he
refers to the operation made popular by Facebook, then I'm of the
opinion that it's always either 100% ok or not ok
depending on whether the recipient is a willing participant in the
game of virtual pokes and peekaboos, or not. And because the
notification of pokes is asynchronous (into the user's email),
there is very little harm done for a willing participant, cos they
can sleep all they want while their pestering acquaintance has
their way with the recipient's virtual self.
Yes, I was referring to Facebook. ;) There's no harm indeed, but
imho the timestamp of an email gives some nonnegligible
informations about the sender, depending on the message, of course.
